Who you are agreeing with

This site is published by Jenatech, LLC, a Missouri limited liability company. Using the site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, the honest move is to close the tab.

Age

You must be at least twenty-one years old to use this site, or of legal drinking age where you live if that age is different and you are outside the United States. The door asks, and answering it falsely is a breach of these terms.

What this site is, and is not

The Bourbon Fox & Hound is a journal. It reports on bottles, drops, drawings, and the businesses that sell them. It does not manufacture, import, distribute, sell, ship, or broker alcohol, and no transaction for alcohol happens here. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell a bottle to anyone.

Accuracy, and its limits

Every factual claim on this site is checked before it is published, and corrections are made in the open. That said, shelves empty, prices move, and drawing windows close early. The Barrel Ledger, the shelf alerts, and the Lottery Board are reports of what was true when the entry was verified — they are not guarantees of stock, price, eligibility, or outcome. Every drawing entry links to the authority that runs it, and that authority's own page governs. Confirm there before you drive anywhere or enter anything.

The Lodge

The Lodge is free and it stays free. Leaving a name puts you on the mailing list, every dispatch carries an unsubscribe link, and leaving costs one click. What the journal does with your information is set out in the privacy policy.

Inner Circle membership

Membership is a recurring subscription, and the terms of it are these.

• Price. Seven dollars per month, or fifty-nine dollars per year, in United States dollars, charged at checkout.
• Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the same price and on the same cadence — every month for the monthly plan, every year for the annual plan — until it is cancelled. Stripe charges the payment method you provided, and Stripe emails a receipt for every charge.
• What it buys. Access to the Lottery Board, which is the only member-gated surface on this site. The shadow invites, the monthly dispatch, the regional intel, and the direct line to the journal belong to the free Lodge and are not gated by membership.
• Cancelling. Use the manage-membership link on your account to cancel yourself in a few clicks, at any hour, without asking anyone. Cancelling by writing to intel@bourbonfoxhound.com works equally well and is handled the same day it is read. Cancelling stops every future charge. Access to the Lottery Board ends when the subscription ends.
• Refunds. Any charge is refunded in full, on request, within thirty days of that charge. No explanation is required and none will be asked for. Beyond thirty days, write anyway and the journal will do the fair thing.
• Price changes. If the price ever rises, existing members are told by email before the change takes effect and get the chance to cancel first. A price rise is never applied silently to a renewal.
• Founders. Anyone grandfathered in before the doors opened holds membership at no charge. There is nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.

What you send us

When you submit a bottle, a spot, a tasting note, or a correction, you keep ownership of what you wrote and you give the journal permission to publish it, edit it for length and clarity, and keep it in the archive. Send only material you have the right to send. Reader notes gathered on an open verdict are used to inform the journal's own eventual write-up and are never republished as though the journal's own palate produced them. If you would rather not be named, say so in the submission and you will not be.

What belongs to the journal

The writing, photography, structure, and marks on this site belong to Jenatech, LLC. Quote a passage with attribution and a link, and that is fair use of the ordinary kind. Republishing entries wholesale, or scraping the site to train or feed a commercial product, is not permitted without written agreement.

Fair use of the site

Do not attempt to break the membership gate, hammer the endpoints, harvest email addresses, submit deliberately false intel, or impersonate the journal. Access can be ended for any of these, and a membership ended that way is refunded for the unused portion.

Links to other places

This site links to distilleries, retailers, bars, and state authorities. Those places are not run by the journal, and their terms and privacy practices are their own.

Disclaimers and liability

The site is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, Jenatech, LLC disclaims implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site or reliance on anything published here. Where liability cannot be disclaimed, it is limited to the amount you have paid the journal in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Drink like an adult

Nothing on this site is medical advice, and enthusiasm for a pour is not a recommendation to have another one. Do not drive after drinking. If drinking has stopped being a pleasure, the journal would rather you get help than get the bottle.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts sitting in St. Louis County, Missouri. If you are a consumer somewhere that gives you the right to sue locally, that right is untouched by this paragraph.

Changes

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. A change that materially affects a paying member is emailed to members before it takes effect.
